END OF LIFE

The environmental issues involved in vehicle end of life are factored in right from the design phase.

Recycled plastic 

Working with its suppliers, Renault develops vehicles that from design include at least 5% recycled plastic (Renault eco² range). This percentage rises as high as 17% on some models.

85% recyclable  

Renault eco² vehicles are 85% recyclable at end of life. Once they have been cleared of pollutant materials, dismantled and shredded, they move on to a second life. Recycling supplies energy (for cement works, heating, etc.) and creates new materials, including recycled plastic.

Renault Environment  

Renault took a further step forward in 2008 by setting up Renault Environment, a subsidiary that works to recover end-of-life products and develop new environmental services.
