TAKING ACTION TOGETHER

Renault is a leading automotive group that takes an active role in international initiatives to promote more environmental vehicle use. Renault is contributing to a number of strategic projects to build the future, including the launch of electric vehicles, the recycling of end-of-life vehicles and the development of synthetic fuels.

Preparing the mass-market launch of electric vehicles

Renault-Nissan Alliance and EDF partnership: targeting zero emissions

The Renault-Nissan Alliance and EDF, France's electricity utility, signed an agreement in 2008 (strengthened in 2010) aimed at setting up a 100% electric, zero-emission transport system. It will be implemented in France.

Project Better Place: first mass launch of electric vehicles

The Renault-Nissan Alliance signed a breakthrough agreement with Better Place in 2008 to provide the necessary conditions for the successful launch of electric vehicles, for the first time in history.

Accelerating the roll-out of end-of-life vehicle processing and recycling

Working with SITA-France, French recycling leader

By joining forces with SITA, Renault is the first auto manufacturer to make a commitment on this scale to processing and recycling end-of-life vehicles. This is a crucial issue in sustainable mobility.

Encouraging the use of synthetic fuels

The Alliance for Synthetic Fuels in Europe (ASFE)

A founding member of the ASFE, Renault is participating in the development of synthetic fuels. The ASFE brings together large automotive and energy groups focused on a single objective: developing new, non-oil based fuel sectors.
