Ideally situated in the localities of Flins and Aubergenville, 45 kilometres from Paris, between the A13 motorway, the railway and the Seine river, the site is easily accessible.
The factory is on the same level as the ground water table, which provides a domestic water resource from a natural reserve. The factory occupies 247 hectares, of which 67 hectares are buildings. Since it was opened in 1952, the factory has produced many vehicles that have marked the history of Renault and the French automotive industry. In the 50 years since it opened, the factory has produced 18 different models and more than 16 million vehicles.
Silva Bernardi, environment manager:
“2008 was highlighted by a sharp reduction in our VOC atmospheric emissions, following the shutdown of the 100% solvent-based paintwork line. The actions taken as part of our continuous progress initiative to reduce our environmental impact have achieved satisfactory results."
