DACIA

Created in 1966 and bought by Renault in 1999, Dacia is the most important auto maker in Romania. Its values are: simplicity, robustness and unbeatable value for money. A large part of its success comes from the emblematic vehicle: Logan. Dacia is also the Group's vector for development in Central and Eastern Europe.

  • Body assembly and powertrain factory, the historic site of the Dacia brand
  • 11,870 employees, 3 production lines
  • Since privatization in 1999, Renault has invested 489 million euros to bring the site up to Group standards
  • An efficient site: from a capacity of 200,000 units in 2004, Pitesti expended to 360,000 units in 2008 
  • Certified ISO 14001 (environmental management standard) since 2005
  • Leading production site for Logan, and the only site to produce Logan, Logan MCV, Logan Van and Logan Pick-up (plus Sandero) at the same time
  • Manufacture of various engines and gearboxes for Renault vehicles
