RENAULT ECO² CHAMPIONS

Renault is reasserting its commitment to market a range of ecological and economical vehicles with the Renault eco² label. Ecological, by measurable results in all phases of the vehicle life cycle and economical through low fuel consumption and affordable technology. The following are just some of the vehicles that carry the Renault eco² signature.

New Twingo dCi 85 

Production: Twingo is manufactured at the Novo Mesto plant (Slovenia), which obtained ISO 14001 certification in 1999.

 

CO2 emissions: Twingo is available with the dCi 85 engine emitting only 85g of CO2 /km (3.4 l over 100km in mixed cycle). Thanks to a low inertia turbocompressor, it delivers additional power and torque from low revs.

 

Recycling: Twingo contains 9% recycled plastic and is 95% recoverable by mass at end of life.

Clio dCi 90 

Production: Clio is manufactured both at the Flins (France) and Bursa (Turkey) plants. The first obtained ISO 14001 certification in 2000, while the second in 1999.

 

CO2 emissions: Clio is available with a dCi 90 engine emitting only 94g of CO2/km. This result is also obtained by enhanced aerodynamic efficiency (SCx) and reduced rolling resistance.

 

Petrol engines also provide good performances. By using supercharging systems, Renault engineers can downsize to reduce engine capacity and CO2 emissions without stinting on performance. Thus, the TCe 100 engine fitted on Clio today replaces the 1.7 l engine from 1991 that developed 90 hp. The TCe unit increases that power while reducing CO2 emissions by 75g/km.

 

Recycling: Clio contains 8% recycled plastic.

Mégane hatch dCi 110 EDC 

Production: New Mégane is manufactured at the Palencia plant (Spain), ISO 14001 certified.

 

CO2 emissions: Equipped with the EDC automatic transmission Mégane on a dCi 110 DPF engine, Mégane only emits110g of CO2/km.

 

Recycling: Mégane Hatchback contains more than 20 kg of recycled plastic (more than 11.7% of its overall plastic weight).
