Education and training, diversity, road safety and sustainable mobility... Renault and its subsidiaries are involved in a wide range of corporate philanthropy initiatives worldwide.

A total of €10,4 millions were devoted to these actions in 2010.

Education and training 

The Renault Foundation

The Renault Foundation trains foreign students from prestigious universities in other countries. It aims to teach them to be at ease in a multicultural environment.

  

The Valued Citizens program

Renault is the main partner in this initiative, which was set up to teach South African children to be responsible citizens.

  

Women for Education

This action, launched by the Women’s Forum and Elle magazine, promoting young girls' education and women's training.


New associations supported by Renault in 2011 

In accordance with Renault’s policy on assessing sponsorship requests, the Selection Committee chose to back five new projects in late 2011:

  

  • Renault donated a vehicle adapted to disabled people for the cultural events organized by the Appel du Geste Actuel association.
  • In the field of education, the Voix de l'enfant association organizes the Fraternity Cup, which in 2011 was attended by 112 children from 12 countries. Renault made a €30,000 contribution to the international organization to bring together children from different backgrounds for sports competitions and art workshops.  
  • The MetisGwa association organizes intercultural meetings to promote dialog among Europe, France and French Overseas Territories. Renault loaned out a vehicle for a European training course in Gosier, Guadeloupe and contributed €10,500 towards the participation of 20 young people from seven European countries and Bagneux in France and 6 young people from Guadeloupe.
  • Handi Peintres produces electronic and automated equipment for disabled people that is used in paint workshops and museums and exhibitions. Renault donated €10,000 to the association.
  • The Cinéma Numérique Ambulant (CNA) association works to provide lasting access to news, education through images, and entertainment by improving the technical capacities of its mobile projection units and those of its partners. Renault contributed to the CNA’s work with a €50,000 donation.

Half of the funds Renault invests in sponsorship go to initiatives selected by its subsidiaries, whose excellent knowledge of local issues ensures the appropriate use of funds.

 

In Spain, the Food Bank Foundation in Seville distributes food to the destitute. In one year it has distributed 3.5 million metric tons of food at 334 centers to nearly 40,000 people. Some 1,200 employees from the Renault plant in Seville helped out the Foundation during the “Kilo” operation. 

 

Renault worked in partnership with the Red Cross to help the Japanese population after the March 11, 2011 earthquake. More than 1,500 Renault employees made a donation to the Red Cross. In all, Renault donated €931,916.

 

In India, Renault supports the "Saksham" project (meaning "trained, strengthening of one's abilities" in Hindi) to promote the youth's employment through professional training in Delhi's slum areas.

 

In Brazil, the staff at the Ayrton Senna/Renault do Brasil complex helped out victims of the torrential rains in January 2011 by organizing a five-day campaign to collect staples. Tons of clothes, food, water and hygiene products were collected. Three Master vehicles were also given to fire fighters in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
