RENAULT MOBILIZ PROGRAM

The inability to get around, and in particular the impossibility to acquire or maintain a vehicle, are major factors of social and economic exclusion. As a leading player in the automotive industry and sustainable mobility for all, the Renault group is launching the Renault MOBILIZ program, in an effort to make it easier for persons in difficulty to become mobile.

Initiatives 

    Renault Mobiliz is a federating project rooted in the very genes and the history of Renault, which has always aimed to deliver sustainable mobility for all.

     

    Initially intended for France, the program comprises a number of initiatives in cooperation with NGOs, educational establishments and the public sector:

     

  • Support for mobility platforms, operated by the Voiture & co NGO. These platforms help people in need of social integration through mobility solutions that meet their specific needs, ranging from individual support to the low-cost rental of various means of transport.
  • Renault's socially responsible garages: These dealers and sub-agents in the Renault network have volunteered to help people living on low incomes to gain access to the quality services available in the Renault network at prices adapted to their situation. This initiative is currently in the experimental phase.
  • Creation of an investment company to fund innovative organizations developing mobility solutions for people in difficulty. This investment fund is financed by Renault.
  • Sponsorship of the "Social Business / Enterprise and Poverty" chair at the HEC Paris business school to share knowledge on social business, exchange views with other businesses committed to this initiative and benefit from the support and advice of experts.

More than 100 million people in Europe live below the poverty line, set by the INSEE state statistics office in France at €950 per month for a single person. In France, 15 million people have transport mobility programs, which may hinder social integration (source, Mobility Observatory).


For Renault, which has always worked towards making sustainable mobility accessible to all, it was only natural to help the underprivileged overcome these difficulties.


The Renault MOBILIZ project has a number of goals:

 

  • To meet a real need: mobility is a major vector of re-integration, since a means of transport makes it possible to attend training courses and job interviews or simply get to work.
  • To propose useful and practical products and services, from micro-collective means of transport to subsidized rentals, all at a cost that can be afforded by the less well off.
  • To use existing solutions. Renault MOBILIZ relies on both the platforms operated by Voiture & co, and the volunteer dealerships or socially responsible garages in the Renault network.
  • To win the loyalty of people who could become customers and ambassadors for Renault's products, once they are back in work.

Renault MOBILIZ Invest 

Renault has created an investment company to fund innovative structures developing mobility solutions for people in social and financial difficulty in order to develop this initiative and shore up its long-term future.
