C.A.C.I.A. SA is located in the village of Cacia, on the northern edge of Aveiro. It is in Portugal's third-largest industrial centre. The plant is located on major motorways, enabling fast transportation to the rest of Europe.
The plant covers an area of 34 ha, of which 7 consists of buildings.
The site’s design is highly operational, guaranteeing an effective, efficient flow of people, products and equipment.
João Tavares, Responsable Environnement :
"2009 was a difficult year owing to the activity downturn, which led us to step up vigilance on our environmental aspects. Management during production stoppage days was important for the plant in terms of controlling its environmental performance."
Significant investments were made to improve the working conditions of operators, including the installation of an air extraction and treatment system, which resulted in a considerable improvement in air quality inside the plant while ensuring the best atmospheric emission conditions.

Comments :
- Water consumption: water consumption rose owing to an increase in the green space surface area and the corresponding watering needs.
- Liquid effluents: the increase is linked to the discharge threshold imposed by the town hall.
- Energy: control of consumption during non-worked days. Application of Group actions on energy savings.
- Electricity consumption outside production hours in 2009: 9.2% higher than Renault’s internal target.
