The site is located some 120 km north-west of Bucarest in the Arges region. It is on the industrial platform of the Dacia site, in the Suppliers' Industrial Zone (ZIF).

“We worked on the following priority actions in 2009:

• the elimination of priority installations in three buildings for soil protection,
• the implementation of a new chemicals warehouse to store the chemicals used at ACI,
• major investments in improving demineralized water production. A system for softening industrial water was set up before the osmosis system.

Improvement and innovation

A modification made at the Cataphoresis Effluent Treatment Station on the evacuation of dehydrated sludge issuing from the press-filter treatment station enabled us to transfer sludge directly to 1,000-litre containers instead of a 20m3 bin, thus eliminating a step in a service subcontracted to another company.

In 2009 we also pursued our efforts on waste sorting, chemicals management and protection against accidental spillage.”
