The site is located next to a main road, highway No. 36, in the district of Santa Isabel, around 10 km from the town centre. The site has varied surroundings, with a nearby residential area, as well as industrial activities and farmland. The total area is around 195.9 ha, of which more than two-thirds are made up of green areas. The La Cañada river crosses the site before reaching Cordoba.
Energy consumption
The old boilers, which were costly in terms of steam generation, electricity, fuel and miscellaneous chemicals, were replaced by machines that run on natural gas. The new heating system is efficient and easy to control, as well as costing less to run.
A process of strengthened continuous improvement on water consumption, liquid effluents and VOC emissions was implemented in 2009.
