The site is located north-east of Évreux (roughly 100km from Paris) overlapping the municipalities of Aubevoye, Venables, Vieux-Villez, Villers-sur-le-Roule, and Sainte-Barbe-sur-Gaillon.
With a surface area of about 613 hectares, of which 272 are woods, the centre is located in a rural setting, where the nearest dwellings are on the perimeter of the site.
The site blends perfectly into the surrounding landscape, and manages this natural heritage in order to preserve the neighbouring forests and natural spaces, and the complete management risk disturbance.
The Aubevoye Technical Centre has upgraded its test benches and wind tunnels. These projects also required us to modernise our technical facilities and our situation with regard to the local authorities:
- Installation of more efficient cooling systems.
- Replacement of the air cooler towers by air condensers that will gradually eliminate the risk of Legionnaire’s Disease on the site.
These changes required a request for a special permit and, in March 2008, the application of a new order issued by the Prefect.
All of the employees at the Aubevoye Technical Centre have been trained in environmental protection and the importance of sorting and reusing product waste.
The environmental team relies on a network of Contacts in every field of activity to deploy the Management System and to make sure that communication regarding the environment flows freely in both directions.
Since 2003, almost all wastewater from the site has been treated at the Aubevoye municipal treatment plant.
Recent efforts to resize the rain water network resulted in the installation of a new tank dedicated to the recovery of fire-fighting water.
The site has implemented a method for retrieving volatile organic compounds given off during fuel unloading and distribution operations in its two service stations.
