Renault is a faithful and enthusiastic cinema fan. To express its support for the seventh art, the brand is present at leading film festivals around the world.

Renault and festivals in France, a historic partnership 

Laguna GT au Festival du Cinéma Américain de Deauville

Renault has been an official partner of the Cannes International Film Festival for more than 25 years. A quarter of a century of glamour, celebrations and films, during which the brand’s vehicles (from the Renault 30 to Vel Satis) have escorted the greatest film stars to the foot of the red carpet.

 

For the 62nd Cannes Festival in 2009, one hundred Vel Satis models with Eclipse Grey bodywork could be seen driving up and down the famous Croisette, with the elite of international cinema onboard.

 

Next September, and for the tenth year running, Renault will be an official partner at the American Film Festival in Deauville. A fleet of 15 Laguna and 2 New Scénic will be placed at the disposal of the jury and guests.

 

Renault is also an official partner of the Académie des César and its offshoots (Daniel Toscan du Plantier Prize, Nuits en Or short film awards). La Nuit des César awards evening, which takes place every year in February, is the key event.

Promoting global cinema 

Renault, an international player, is proud to contribute to promoting the cinema around the world.

 

In 2008, Renault became an the official partner of the 8th International Film Festival in Marrakech. Vel Satis and Laguna GT will drive film makers and actors around the city.

 

Renault’s Spanish subsidiary signed a partnership with the country’s leading film event, the International Film Festival in San Sebastian, dispatching 14 vehicles for the 56th edition in 2008.

 

Renault Spain is also an official partner of the Valladolid International Film Festival. This event, which promotes the work of exacting film makers, brought to fame such directors as Pedro Almodovar. Its existence has been decisive for Spanish and international cinema. Renault was particularly proud to make a fleet of Lagunas available for this event in 2008.

 

In Poland, Renault Polska is a close partner of the Gdynia Film Festival, the equivalent of the French César awards. A contribution to Polish cinema worldwide.

 

The subsidiaries in Turkey, the UK, Switzerland and the Czech Republic also partner film festivals held in their respective countries.

 

These partnerships illustrate the ties between the Group and the cinema, and the role played by Renault in promoting cultural heritage.
