Meet the people: Franck Boutet
A career with Renault is always considered over the long-term, taking each individual's aspirations into account. Special emphasis is placed on multiplying skills and diversifying experiences, or on specialization. The key to this is constant development of professional know-how. Franck Boutet, Business Manager in the Parts & Accessories Unit, is one illustration of this philosophy.

French, born in 1965.
Graduated in engineering from the UTC (Université Technologique de Compiègne).
Business Manager Parts & Accessories, Americas zone.
"I got my job with Renault through a Mexican corporate volunteer program in 1985 after 3 years of higher education. When I returned to France, Renault offered me several different positions. Since I wanted to work in real-time information processing, I chose a job as electronic engine injection specialist. I also decided to pursue my studies at the CNAM (Centre National des Arts et Métiers) while continuing to work.
Three years later, Renault suggested I follow a PST job promotion scheme. So I went back to school for three years to become a full-fledged engineer . When I returned, I was looking for a job with wide scope in order to understand the company better, so I joined the Advanced vehicle engineering department and happily immersed myself in the company's upstream operations.
In 1999, when my line manager was appointed director of the Mégane 2 program, I put myself forward as project technical secretary. He then specifically put me in charge of organization, a vast mission as the program covered the development of 8 different vehicles, manufactured in 4 plants and 3 countries. This enabled me to experience the development of Mégane 2, from the first sketches right up to series production.
After the Mégane project, I wanted to get closer to the customers and to manage operations for a specific area. I moved on to the Service Division, to manage the servicing policy for all our vehicles.
Drawing on this career change, and in order to go further in after-sales, a fascinating area, I became Business Manager in the Americas zone at the start of 2008, in the Parts & Accessories Business Unit. Now I'm facing a new challenge!
I am quite aware of the unique character of my career path. My desires and those of the company have always been in harmony. My time spent in engineering school enabled me to save time and to widen my field of action. I then had the privilege of forming part of the project management team for a key vehicle. Today, I am using my engineering skills in the commercial field.
Renault offers vast opportunities for career advancement, as a result of the size of the company and its global reach, and also because of the positive attitudes people have in the company. As long as you are open to learning and are capable of following through decisions in a meticulous way, you can enjoy incomparable freedom of expression and action here.
I would just like to say to those young people who are really dedicated to their work, that Renault is a remarkable company - it always gives back all that you put in to it."
