Working with schools through lasting partnerships

Renault takes a range of action through its numerous partnerships. It advises on course design and research projects, is involved in chairs and foundations, attends forums, roundtable discussions and conferences, and organizes visits to its sites. While the partners themselves are highly diverse, one thing is always the same: Renault ensures lasting partnerships with schools and students.

In France, Renault works actively with the national education system to match training structures with the Group's skills needs. Internationally, Renault is striking up partnerships apace with its global expansion.

Professional training for young people

Renault is also committed to organizing professional training for young people. In 2007, nearly 5,000 students received training (work-study programs or internships) at all levels and in all functions at Renault s.a.s.. The work accomplished by Group managers at partner schools facilitates exchanges and internships. In addition, Renault paid €8.5 million in apprenticeship tax to nearly 500 schools in France in 2007.

Raising awareness on automotive professions

Informing young people about the variety of automotive professions is also a key lever for getting them started on a career or interested in scientific and technical studies. In France, Renault has signed the charter of companies committed to equal opportunities in education and supports actions to raise awareness on its professions. For example, the "Course en Cours" educational project, bringing together middle schools, high schools and universities, targets students from less favored social and cultural backgrounds. Their challenge is to design, manufacture and promote a mini Formula 1 car, to be raced internationally. Participating youngsters are tutored by students in higher education, giving them a vision of a professional future and an opportunity to discover the working world first-hand and build a personal project.
