Testimonials
The Alliance, in addition to its cooperation agreements, is a structure made up of men and women working together, two cultures in close, regular contact for their mutual enrichment. Meet Stéphanie Huchet.

The Alliance: a multi-faceted project
"My activities working as a jurist for the Alliance are quite varied and represent approximately 90% of what I do. I have many tasks related directly to the Alliance, such as monitoring the application of and adherence to French and Japanese corporate governance regulations, writing up contracts for joint Renault-Nissan engine and powertrain development, legal validation of the minutes of Alliance Board meetings, etc.
I am also the Legal Department correspondent for a Renault-Nissan work group known as the "Legal and Tax FFT (Functional Task Team)" which brings together mixed teams of Renault and Nissan jurists once or twice a year. And the correspondents from all the mixed work groups, FTTs and CCTs (Cross Company Teams) combined, meet once every two months to present a progress report on current projects."
Discovering a new culture on the job
"Thanks to these different missions, I came into contact with the Japanese for the first time in work situations. As preparation, I had attended in-house conferences on the culture, history, ethnology, etc. of Japan as well as seminars on working in cross-cultural teams. Both turned out to be very useful in facilitating the initial contact, which can be unsettling if you're not prepared.
Our Japanese counterparts don't always use the same work methods as we do, and we needed to find a compromise. We now work together with great mutual respect. The Japanese often find us disorganized, and we find them fastidious, but we were able to go beyond these differences and work together efficiently. For me, the Alliance is a daily experience which I find very enriching."
