In 1996, Renault set up the Shareholders' Consultative Committee, consisting of 12 members, each appointed for four years, with half of the members replaced every two years.

The Committee meets four times a year to advise the Company on all aspects of communication to individual shareholders, on the share, the groups’ results and its strategy.

6 new members joined the Committee in January 2007:

Françoise de Saint Sernin
Jean-Luc Cazaufranc
Dominique Grouselle
Jérôme Aba
Aldo Sicurani
Jean-Jacques Cousty (employee shareholder)

They join the six other members Renault has now worked with on a number of information media, including the 2005 Annual report, awarded first prize in the CAC40 category (Les Echos and La Vie Financière prize):

Catherine Adam
Michel Delerue
Michel Heuillet
Serge Renault
Francis Saint-Pierre
Jean-Paul Verwaerde (employee shareholder)

The Consultative Committee for Shareholders met at the Palais des Congrès in Paris on May 2, as part of the Annual General Meeting.

Committee members attended a presentation of New Twingo and a presentation of the project for an interactive guide for shareholders, and took part in the second session of the workshop on redesigning the finance page of Renault.com. They then met with President and CEO Carlos Ghosn over lunch before the start of the General Meeting.

"Our role is to work with Renault's Investor Relations department to improve and develop the information provided to individual shareholders," explains Serge Renault, Committee member since September 2004.
The Committee also offers shareholders an opportunity to show their long-term commitment to the Group.

For Jean-Jacques Cousty, Committee member since 2007, "the role of each member of the Committee is to voice the expectations on communication of all shareholders, to relay their questions, suggestions and requests."

For Françoise de Saint Sernin, members of the Shareholders’ Consultative Committee have several missions, including "giving advice on the different communication media while taking shareholder diversity into account; increasing shareholder loyalty by providing the right tools to better understand the company; listening carefully to shareholders and informing the management team of their interests, expectations and concerns."

Since it was set up in 1996, the Committee has been consulted on and has helped to improve all Renault's financial communication resources - a source of great satisfaction to its members.
Committee recommendations have led to significant improvements in the financial information section of the website, the shareholders' newsletter, the documents convening the AGM, and the annual report.

Catherine Adam particularly likes "the genuine equality of treatment between individual and institutional shareholders," and intends to remain vigilant on this.

The Committee members are full of praise for Renault's financial communication, which they want to maintain at the highest level. "The information provided is very comprehensive. Each category of shareholder can access all the information they need for complete reassurance and to manage their investments in the best possible way".
