Renault President and CEO Carlos Ghosn unveiled the company's new business plan, Renault Commitment 2009, on February 9, 2006.
Underpinned by an acute awareness of the automobile's impact on the environment, Renault Commitment 2009 sets ambitious medium-term obectives for fuel economy and the reduction of greenhouse gases, to address concerns about global warning and the depletion of natural resources.
Renault eco², launched in 2007, reaffirms the Group’s commitments in terms of the vehicle lifecycle. It provides buyers with a view of the progress made by the Group in terms of:
- environmental management,
- reduction in greenhouse gases,
- preservation of air quality,
- preservation of natural environments,
- protection of water resources,
- improvement in waste management.
