Renault eco2, demonstrates the Group’s commitments in terms of respecting the environment.

Based on 3 criteria, Renault eco² is awarded in particular to vehicles in the range manufactured on an industrial site that respects the ISO 14001 standard. This certification validates the procedures launched on the site to reduce water consumption and fluid waste.

Production phase

Targets were reached for water consumption:

• Total water consumption for the Group fell 43% between 1998 and 2007, despite a 19% increase in the number of vehicles produced.

• Water consumption per vehicle manufactured (based on the scope of production) fell from 5.4 m3/veh (51% reduction between 1998 and 2007).

 

• The target was also reached for suspended solids. Emissions per vehicle fell by 53% between 1998 and 2007 (on a like-for-like production basis).

• Emissions of organic matter per vehicle produced fell by 43% between 1998 and 2007 (on a like-for-like production basis. Emissions of toxic metals (arsenic, cadmium, copper, mercury, nickel, lead, zinc) per vehicle produced fell by 50 % between 1998 and 2007 (on a like-for-like production basis).
