Renault eco², launched in 2007, demonstrates the Group’s progress in terms of respecting the environment. Over the last few years, Renault has been working to reduce the ecological impacts of its vehicles over their lifecycle, from their design phase. It has also put in place a daily environmental management programme on all its sites.

This environmental management programme has been deployed on an international scale. In 2006, Renault won the "Environmental Management for Sustainable Development" prize awarded by the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development as part of the « Business & Environment 2006 » Prize.

Production, use and end-of-life

In february 2008, the Somaca plant (Casablanca) earned the ISO 14001 certification. The Avtoframos (Moscou) plant rolled out an Environmental Management System, and received the certification in april 2008. Today the certification covers 100% of the Renault group’s industrial activity, i.e.  38 industrial sites and subsidiaries.

• All sites conducted environment/risk prevention audits in 2006.

• Renault has included environmental issues in the Renault Production Way in 2004.

• Since 2000, 25 sites drafted an environmental statement.  

• Since 1998, the Cap Eco 1 training module has been followed by 40,000 employees and relayed by 400 in-house training facilitators.
