Workforce
In 2007, the site completed the programme to take on the personnel necessary for the ramp-up of the new warehouse in Villeroy (Yonne): 131 people, mainly unemployed workers from the Sens area, were recruited on permanent contracts.
Training hours
The plan mainly involved training the 131 people recruited for Villeroy. Other actions focused on skills, safety, machinery operation, management and languages. Special training was provided in the operating system used by warehouses.
Occupational accidents
The mixed results in safety can be largely attributed to the start-up of the new Villeroy warehouse and the learning curve of the warehouse workers. An action plan was started in 2007 and will be stepped up in 2008.
Initiative & Creativity
The site put in place an agreement signed by five trade unions out of six. A challenge, organized in the fourth quarter, produced more than 600 Practical Suggestions for Improvement delivering savings whose potential could be calculated.
Highlights
Initiatives to promote employees' fundamental rights
Promoting employment
As part of the opening of a new Parts & Accessories warehouse in Villeroy (Yonne), 130 people were recruited on permanent contracts. Almost all of them were local unemployed workers. As a result, in 2006 and 2007 240 unemployed workers received permanent contracts to work in the new warehouse and were able to follow the necessary training.
Ensuring staff representation
All the representative trade unions signed an agreement on trade union and personnel representation, given that the site comprises several locations. As part of the integration of the Saint-Ouen site (60 people, a former Renault subsidiary) with the Cergy site, special on-site employee representation bodies were set up.
