Workforce

The gradual increase in output (to 60 vehicles an hour by January 1, 2008) required an increase in resources and skills, reflected in the recruitment of more than 3,000 white collar and blue collar workers on fixed-term and permanent contracts.

Ongoing partnership with Romanian universities and a new partnership with industrial art and design schools to meet growing skills needs.

In 2007, Dacia achieved the best training results of the past seven years, with an average satisfaction rating of 18/20 (immediately after the training).

Occupational accidents

  • Continuous evaluation of workstation hazards and introduction of measures to eliminate hazards.

  • Ongoing deployment of safety and ergonomics rules.

  • Specific training for operators in safety, chemicals and toxicology.

  • Harmful effects controlled through regular measures.

  • Use of chemicals with lower environmental impact. Use of water-soluble paints and elimination of halogenated solvents.

  • Ongoing renovation of mini cafeterias, change rooms and showers.

  • Modernisation of buses for employees.

Initiative & Creativity

Organization of an ideas challenge to improve productivity at the powertrain plant.

Change in the rules for Practical Suggestions for Improvement in order to implement the rules of the 2007-2009 Group Agreement.

Number of suggestions submitted in 2007: 8,688 of which 8,140 were put into practice and 6,513 compensated.

Savings generated: €1,850,000.

Initiatives to promote employees' fundamental rights

  • Promoting health

Dacia has implemented several initiatives to raise employee awareness of smoking, cardio-vascular disease, nutrition and obesity.

  • Creating jobs

In 2007, 3,000 people were hired on fixed-term and permanent contracts in all staff categories.

  • Expanding employee training quotas

More than 90% of the Dacia group’s staff attended training in skills, languages, management or personal development. Training concerned all employee categories.
