Water consumption

The site was connected to the neighbouring town’s drinking water supply in the second half of 2007. That reduced pumping from the water table by 25%. Water pumped from the water table is now only used for technical purposes (sprinklers and fire hydrants).

Water-borne effluents

The Sofrastock site was connected to the neighbouring town's treatment plant in 2007. The facility now treats all the site’s wastewater.

Highlights

Grégory Le Guen, Environmental Manager:

"2007 was a turning point for lowering environmental impacts. The replacement of the heating facilities across the whole site reduced atmospheric emissions. The site was connected to the municipal system, which eliminated wastewater and reduced pumping from the water table by 25%. The construction of holding tanks for accidental spillage and the dismantling of LPG tanks give the site more control over its pollution risks."
