Employees
Employees are both customers and players in the social aspects of sustainable development. They are customers, because Renault has made a formal commitment to respecting their basic rights (health, safety, working conditions, training, etc.) through the Declaration of Fundamental Social Rights. They are players because their involvement in respecting and implementing these rights is essential.
Social commitments
- The Declaration of Fundamental Social Rights covers basic rights (such as health, safety, working conditions, refusal of forced labor and child labor, gender equality and personnel representation) and implements global rules and principles. It applies to all Group employees as well as to suppliers.
- The Code of Good Conduct. This document provides a framework for relationships with all stakeholders, both inside and outside the Group.
- Labor/management dialogue. Renault is promoting continuous and responsible labor/management dialogue, at all levels of the company.
Improving the quality of life in the workplace
- Working conditions. Group policy is rolled out through a management system based on a set of standards and subject to regular audits conducted jointly with an external body. Significant improvement can be seen in results concerning occupational accidents and workstation ergonomics.
- Personnel health. Alongside its global policy, Renault places particular emphasis on stress screening. Renault was one of the first companies in France to set up a program, run on a voluntary basis, which aims to quantify the problem of stress in order to prevent it more effectively.
Updating know-how and skills
- Training. On average, four Renault employees in five follow a training course every year. This major investment reflects a twofold concern. For Renault, guaranteeing general access to training is a way to support the implementation of its strategy. For employees, training is a way to constantly adapt their skills in order to build a career.
- E-learning: The online training offer has been continuously expanded since the first programs were set up in 2000. Both attendance rate and time spent online by learners are rising constantly.
Access to information
- The Group's international house magazine, Global, is published in five languages and has a circulation of more than 100,000.
- A total of 60,000 computer workstations around the world have access to the Group's intranet in two languages.
