Rating agencies

Rating agencies specializing in sustainable development assess corporations according to their corporate governance and their commitments, policies and performance in the social and environmental fields related to their activity.

In 2007, for the second time Renault was included among the SAM and Oekom indexes.

In 2006, three reputable agencies - Vigéo, SAM and Oekom – rated Renault among the best performing carmakers in the field of sustainable development. These results mean that Renault is now listed in a range of indexes that are used by many funds to decide on their investment policy.

A positive assessment

Renault's good results reflect the positive assessment of the Group's policy in all aspects of sustainable development.

The consideration of environmental protection at every stage of a vehicle's life cycle, from design through to recycling, the strategy to reduce CO2 emissions and increase the environmental performance of the Group's production plants are all seen as strong points.

The Group's labor relations policies and their practical application are also very well rated. The Declaration of Employees’ Fundamental Rights reflects Renault's strong commitment to human rights, even more so since Renault also requires its suppliers to achieve the same standards.

Renault's social responsibility is also well rated on the strength of the Group's international initiatives and the actions taken in the field throughout the company in response to local needs.

These good results reward Renault's Sustainable Development policy, which has already produced tangible results.
