A crossover that marries SUV style with saloon dynamics

The Koleos Concept show car foreshadows the shape of crossovers to come in the Renault line-up. Styled by Renault designers working in collaboration with the Renault Samsung Motors Design Centre in Korea, it combines the high stance and features of an SUV with the roominess and stowage solutions of an MPV, and the comfort and sporty feel of a modern saloon car.
Koleos Concept has a distinctive, expressive style. Its blue-grey colour lends its body volume a particularly high-tech feel.

Useful technology and onboard comfort

The aluminium door sill extensions which deploy when the doors are open facilitate ingress. On settling into the cabin, occupants discover a sporty interior, all in a two-tone colour scheme.

The four independent seats catch the eye through the finesse of their lines.

The central section of the dashboard is dedicated to navigation, multimedia applications, and information that is useful for driving off the beaten track, like altitude, air pressure, navigation bearings, and gradient. All the car’s occupants can take in this information easily. Controls are both ergonomically designed and intuitively placed.
The cabin is particularly bright and airy thanks to the panoramic glass roof panel.

Koleos Concept, built to get away from it all

Koleos Concept offers a range of features that are practical both for everyday life and for leisure pursuits. The split-opening rear hatch makes the vehicle easy to load and easy to access in cramped parking conditions. The lower part of the hatch is designed to enable two people to sit comfortably for picnics and open-air activities during the holidays or weekend excursions.

With all the features of an off-road vehicle, its chassis is ideally suited to this kind of leisure pursuit. Developed within the Renault-Nissan Alliance, this brand new chassis has drawn on the 4WD know-how of our Japanese partners. Whether in two-wheel or four-wheel drive mode, the chassis guarantees flawless traction thanks to an electronically controlled active coupler. The coupler distributes varying degrees of torque to the wheels depending on the how much each one grips and slips, thus ensuring top-class road-holding.

Koleos Concept is powered by an engine that is as much at home on city streets, highways and motorways as it is on rough tracks where grip is at a premium. Its 2.0dCi engine makes use of state-of-the-art diesel engine technology, like piezoelectric injectors, 1600-bar common rail injection, and variable geometry turbochargers.

To minimize polluting emissions, the 2.0 dCi is equipped with a periodic regeneration particulate filter, which operates without additives. It drives through a six-speed manual gearbox that gives Koleos Concept touring-car-level driving pleasure.
